google groups 2
so google launched google groups 2 beta… i’ve been playing around with it a bit tonight and it’s definitely still buggy (yup, it’s a beta). i’m not sure i’d go through the trouble of moving my yahoo! groups over from there though (and definitely not while they’re still in beta). the emails that are sent are ad-free, which is nice (but most likely they’ll add ad-words, right?
i’ve created my own google group, called sinned to try this whole thing out. they even give me all of the necessary HTML to make myself a nice little subscribe box.. granted, the “approval” process doesn’t seem to work, so go ahead and apply for my group, i just might not be able to approve you until they fix it.
update: hmm.. actually, it looks like that email box doesn’t work right now (and it also had relative image urls that i fixed).. looks like one of the google engineers (that mike knows, incidentally) is getting all of the subscription emails from this form.. yay! beta!
