Yes, I realize that this is a nerdy endeavor, but I looked today, and I’ve fallen to 7th the google rankings for a search for “dennis.” I’m now nestled in between Dennis, MA and Dennis, NJ. Ack!
Grrrrr. Dennis Kucinich has TWO of the top 10 entries. Wtf?!
Yes, I’m like a super nerd. I directly attribute my falling in the rankings to the fact that I’ve not been posting as much lately. Grr. Anyway, I’m gonna give myself a dennis link just for some good measure, maybe that’ll help.
Eeeep! I just noticed that my friend Matt has fallen to 2nd (to the whereismatt dude) — could that be a result of his recent domain switch? (He switched from photomatt.net to ma.tt last year)

For this week’s edition of friday timewaster… we have.. kitten war! Kittens are so cute! What better way than to put their cuteness to a duel. May the cutest kitty win!

So.. I’m not usually THIS geeky, but Doug pointed me to this geourl service where you can add latitude and longitude information into the meta tags for your blog… But.. ok.. yah, I’m geeky.
Strangely, the MSN terraserver thinks that my house is 2 doors down from where I actually live. If you look at the picture, the red dot is NOT where I live.. My house is two houses to te left. The large construction site behind my building is now finished and is a bunch of new condos.
I’m at latitude 37.77854 and longitude -122.42398, and with this information, you can see my blog neighbors. What purpose does this really serve? I have no idea, but it sure is neato.

Last year before the Summer Olympics started, John Roberts and I came up with an idea for some sort of “Internet Olympics” — yes, I know… super nerdy.. But, events included “google archery”: given a certain web page, participants were to submit a keyword to such that the web page would show up in the results.. If the target page showed up as the top result, that’d be a bullseye.. there was also some sort of search engine scavenger hunt.. anyway… I forget some of the other events that we thought of…
In any case, this guess the google game would be a perfect addition to the olympics… it’s actually kind of fun…
Leave it up to the crazy kids at MIT to make cool stuff with LEDs and stuff… this dancefloor they made is pretty rad.. make sure and check out the video.. I wonder if these kids know the folks who made the MIT LED wall at burningman. That one is called the tensor and has 64,000 LEDs (as compared to their 1,536).. crazy…
Ooo.. a massively multiplayer online role playing game for.. Golf! I’m going to check this out…
ok.. back in the day, i did manage to put in quite a few hours playing soul calibur… but, i never quite got this good at it… absolutely amazing… i mean.. it’s choreographed and everything using just the actual gameplay. voldo was always a weird character to play, i guess that’s cuz he didn’t want to fight, he just wanted to get his groove on…
